Week of Workouts: Back at it!

Hi all! Last week I pulled out my calendar and made a plan to for sure hit up the gym. like for real. and it happened! I was pumped that we joined a gym and tried to take advantage of it! It was actually perfect timing considering the weather was COLD. So here it goes, here was my week of workouts!

Monday: On Monday, my fiance and I went to a 60 minute spinning class. Those that spin together, stay together? 😉 It was fun and since the studio was nice and toasty it was very welcome considering the cold temps heading into Philly!

Tuesday: Tuesday I was able to leave work a few minutes early to be able to get to a Body Pump class. I’m an avid reader of Peanut Butter Fingers and she frequently mentions the class so I was really excited to see they offered it at the gym! The class was great! It was 45 minutes of weight lifting featuring moderate weights and high reps according to music.

Wednesday: Welll….We had the best intentions and had planned to run on Wednesday, but it was wayyy too cold, too dark, and icy! Decided it was best to skip the run for tonight. Impromptu rest day it is!

Thursday: Well….once again we planned to run, but the cold got the best of us again. I came home and made some dinner, but then was feeling pretty sore from Body Pump on Tuesday so I did a 15 minute yoga sequence to stretttchhhh it all out.

Friday: AH, best. I decided to go to the pool and swim a couple of laps and WOW. So great to be back in the pool. Here’s the workout I did!

    •  200 freestyle warm up
    • 4 x 100 freestyle with pull buoy
    • 3 x 100 freestyle
    • 3 x 100 fly/free kick
    • 4 x 50 free sprints
    • 4 x 100 free pyramid sprints (slow to start up to sprint finish)
    • 200 freestyle cool downWeek of Workouts | Keep it Real Clean

Saturday: Okay, I had the best intentions to go for a swim again after Friday’s workout, buttttttttt my fiance joined me and seemed like treading water, floating around and hitting up the sauna was more appealing.

Sunday: Finally got back out for a run despite the cold weather and hit up a little run. Not the distance I would like, but it was still cold! We tried to go to the gym later on to do a little light lifting before making dinner, but turns out the gym closes on Sunday early. Oops. Week of workouts |Keep it Real Clean

Happy to be getting back to the gym this week; hoping for another successful week this week!

    Great week of working out! I need to try body pump sometime…it sounds fun! It’s great when you can work out together as a couple :)
