So now it begins. That time each year when you start to think about your New Year’s Resolutions or big plans for the year. I think this year it has hit me a little bit earlier since I’m still coming off the high of running my first half marathon and overall a truly awesome year in general. The 2013 was easily one of the hardest years that I, along with much of my family, has endured. Luckily, 2014 has truly been a wonderful year to help balance a slightest bit of that year for me. Here’s to hoping for an even better 2015! I have begun to start thinking about what types of goals I may have for next year.
I have played with the idea of picking a bunch of races, even considered doing 1 a month for a year, but I keep coming back to the idea that I want to add some variety into my fitness! Not to mention, a race a month would be killer on the budget, especially with this wedding coming up!! I’m totally stumped because just like with the half marathon I want to pick something that I can aspire to complete, something that will be a healthy accomplishment, but also something that will be fun to prepare to do!
I’ve been debating back and forth with the ideas of incorporating yoga or strength training on a more regular basis, but I feel like I need an end goal or a “stopping” point to say I accomplished it to this level. I’m also thinking I need to pick a goal for each month so that I don’t do the New Year die out. You know? That person that is HARDCORE, balls to the wall for the first 3-6 weeks of the year then by mid March your yoga mat is so covered in dust that it creaks when you roll it back out. Yeesh, let’s avoid that!
