Good Morning everyone! Is it just me or is this week draaggggingg. Maybe its because of Day Light savings, but I can’t believe its only Wednesday. Totally feel myself heading into hibernation mode…good thing I have my half marathon to keep me motivated to work out! I totally need to start looking into cold gear running clothing to combat these cold temps. This past weekend I ran the Cooper Norcross Run The Bridge Event which is a 10k that takes runners across the Benjamin Franklin Bridge (and back!). It was a really awesome race with a fun course and I’ll definitely be adding it to my race calendar for next year…but the wind on top of that bridge…OH MAN. It was freezing. I actually felt myself lifted a few times when running at the peak of the bridge. I was glad to have borrowed a cold gear top to run in or else I would have finished the race as a popsicle.
This morning I wanted to share a smoothie recipe that I’ve been making all week. I can’t lie each day despite the fact that I put in the same ingredients its always a slightly different color…this morning it was pink! on Wednesdays we wear pink. Naturally, I paired it with a pink straw. ohhh heyyy.
Don’t you worry. This morning I paid close attention to portions so I could pass along the recipe. This recipe made enough for both my fiance and I to have for breakfast.
Produce Aisle Smoothie
- 1 small handful spinach
- 1 small handful kale
- 2-3 baby carrots or 1 whole carrot
- 1 banana
- 4 strawberries
- 1 cup keifer
- 1 cup water
- 1 scoop whey protein
1. Blend it all up and add a straw! Drink until your heart is content.
I prefer to freeze my strawberries, bananas, and kale ahead of time, but its optional!
