How to keep your shine: Hunter Boots DIY

Good Morning friends! So one of my best friends is getting married this weekend and naturally…the weather report says rain. Instead of being a downer, naturally she is continuing her position as a #poisedbride and trying to figure out a potential plan B. After a quick little Pinterest search, it turns out there are some ADORABLE wedding pictures with rain, and specifically rain boots. Luckily, I happen to have a fun brick red pair of boots for her to wear!

No so shiny Hunter Boots!

UNLUCKILY, they are not so shiny! After a Google search I found that you can buy tons of cleaners, specifically tailored to Hunter Boots. I mean…considering the price of these boots, I could see why you would want to be careful! Unfortunately, I wasn’t going to have time to order the cleaner, nor did I want to dump a random concoction of chemicals on to my boots (and my skin!). Enter. This little friend.

Olive Oil!

Turns out its superrr easy to clean boots with something most people have sitting right on their kitchen counter (Just me, or does everyone always leave Olive Oil out??). All I did was quickly scrub over my boots with a wet rag with gentle soap to remove any dirt and clear some of the basic wax. Next, I pour a dab of olive oil onto a dry paper towel and rubbed away in circular motions. The whole process took about 3 minutes and maybe 2 tablespoons of olive oil. I was nervous that may be oily to the touch, but happily to my surprise when I woke up this morning, I had shiny, non-slippery boots!

OH so shiny Hunter Boots!

Can’t wait to see the bride in these boots, but still fingers crossed we won’t need them!!

Happy Wedding Brian & Alyssa!!!
